Can styled lace wigs look natural?

The answer to that question is of course, yes, if you know what you’re doing!

On a regular basis we get phone calls from both and new old clients wanting to know about the latest styles, frequently asked questions and often times people want to know if a styled lace wig can look natural.

There are a few factors that determine whether or not your styled lace wig will look natural or not. Continue reading this article, to find out more!

Well let’s be honest, styled lace wigs aren’t cheap.

On some websites, the price literally rises another two hundred bucks just because the styled has been applied. In-order to keep the style lasting the longest, it’s important to use suitable products.

I’m not talking about your Dollar General Store on-sale hair products but if your sticking to a budget then at least use the products you would normally use in your own hair (referencing human hair styled lace wigs). Although the hair on a lace wig is not literally growing from your head, it is still human and needs to be treated as such in order for long luster.

Try minimizing or eliminating the amount of alcohol you apply to your wig. Personally, this one tip alone has made dozens of my lace wigs last years, yes, years!

Use flesh tone stocking caps beneath the styled lace wig. The most common mistake I see woman doing is using a stocking cap that is too dark beneath the lace wig. READ THIS CAREFULLY! -> You’re not looking for a stocking cap that matches your skin tone but one that matches your scalp.

On most woman there is a difference and trust me, it is noticeable when you part your styled lace wig and your hair and scalp are the same color. It’s an obvious, I’m fake, flag!

Using the wrong type of bonding method to secure your wig can make your styled lace wig appear wiggy and unnatural.

Ladies, if you’re going to be whipping your head like Willow Smith then bobby pins on the temples just aren’t going to cut it on your styled lace wigs.

Bobby pins are more for styles that will stay in place with not a lot of movement. If you’re going to be swimming, working out or doing activities that may produce sweat then hard bond glue is more suitable.

You won’t have to worry about your wig shifting during the activities.

If your more into activities that don’t involve water, or sweat then soft bond glue will do just fine. Be careful in the shower with soft bond glue as the soap you use may cause the glue to lift.

Another simple but quite over looked tip is washing your wig too often. The more you wash your styled lace wig, the greater the chance of your style not lasting as long and the fiber itself changing consistency.

Unless your wig has been in chlorine, which is common for swimmers, or has been in recent contact with chemicals from hair products there’s really no need to wash your styled lace wig daily.

Even after removal, in many cases you can wash just the area of your lace wigs that has been in contact with the cleaning solutions and spare further damage to the rest of the unit.

These are just a few tips to help your lace wigs look more natural. If you have any questions or would like information on styled lace wigs feel free to call us or post your comments below!
